WHO WE ARE

The European Semester Group's secretariat is part of the ECO unit. We are supporting the work of the European Semester Group (ESG), which comprises 39 EESC members.

This group provides ongoing input to the annual cycle of the European Semester in particular by adopting opinions and information reports. It holds 5 meetings and one conference a year to discuss the documents adopted as part of the Semester cycle. It organises a broad annual consultation in the Member States to consult organised civil society at the national level on reform, investment, budgetary and fiscal policies, social policies, sustainable growth and employment.

YOUR TASKS

you will attend and help with preparing and taking notes of a variety of meetings with the ESG president and presidency and study group meetings
you will help with the preparatory work of opinions/information reports prepared by EESC members.
you will also be involved in the follow-up work of ECO section meetings where the opinions/information reports coordinated by the ESG secretariat will be discussed and voted on.
you will be involved in the follow-up work of EESC Plenary sessions where opinions/information reports are voted on.
You will help with the work linked to the annual ESG consultation in the 27 Member States on the "national reform and investment proposals and their implementation. It consists in:
- organising the country visits
- processing the replies to the questionnaires and the reports of the country visits, preparing the annex
- writing the summary of the results.
you will help us organise and prepare the annual European Semester Group's conference and the five annual meetings of the European Semester Group (invite speakers, prepare the agenda, background documents, etc)
you will partly follow the meetings of the European Parliament's ECON/BUDG committees, take notes and write posts on social media.
you will be asked to follow relevant conferences/events and report back
you will contribute to ad hoc tasks; drafting of speeches, internal strategy documents, brochures etc.
